Umza Express, a new Nigerian airliner, has parked two Dash-8 (Q-400) aircraft at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja, ready to begin operations on August 11, 2022.
According to Capt. Mahmood, Managing Director of Aero Contractors of Nigeria Ltd, the Nigerian registered aircraft, owned by Umza Aviation Services Ltd, will be operated by Aero Contractors under a joint venture agreement between the two parties.
According to Capt. Mahmood, the Dash-8 Aircraft is one of the most fuel-efficient and modern aircraft on the market, with a seating capacity of 74. “We are pleased to inform our customers and stakeholders that this aircraft has been delivered as part of a joint venture agreement with Umza Aviation Services Ltd.” He added.
“We missed our customers over the last few weeks and we are eager to offer our services to our highly esteemed passengers.
“Once we are ready to commence operation, we shall officially inform the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
“We shall announce our resumption of services with a new schedule soon once we are ready.”
Hon. Mohammed Abubakar Maifata, the current Chairman of Umza International Farms Ltd, producers of Umza Rice in Kano, Nigeria, is said to own Umza Aviaiton Services Ltd.
